Missions
There are 15 current UN peacekeeping operations and 1 political mission in Afghanistan administered by the United Nations Department of Peacekeeping (DPKO). Additionally, there is one mission in Iraq administered by the United Nations Department of Political Affairs (DPA). The Better World Campaign has provided a brief background on each of these operations and has illustrated how UN peacekeeping operations can serve American foreign policy and security interest.
