Advocating U.S. Funding for the UN

We are a leading advocacy voice for a strong, fully-funded UN system. We work with thousands of individuals all over the United States -- and around the world -- to raise the profile of the UN and the challenges it faces. We believe that no one nation should pay all the bills or take all the risks for international peace and security. To that end, we work with the United States and other governments to fully fund the life-saving and life-changing programs of the United Nations. By harnessing the energy of our grassroots supporters, building strong coalitions, and using savvy and targeted communications strategies, we have leveraged Congressional support for increasing funding for the United Nations by more than $1 billion in the past two years.

Recent Efforts

• Advocating to Congress to ensure that the FY 2012 appropriations bill fully funded the regular UN budget and erased all debt the U.S. had been building to the UN over the last decade.
• Assured full funding of UN peacekeeping missions and provided critical resources to fund UN programs.
